Beijing£¬the capital of People¡¯s Republic of China, is the center of National politics, culture, transport, tourism and international exchanges and modern metropolis which is full of vitality. Located on north latitude 39¡ã56', east 116¡ã20'. The whole city makes up of 11 zones and 7 counties. It is 43 meters above the sea level and 183 kilometers from the sea.

Beijing Olympic Park

Beijing Olympic Park --China's largest city park--is in the north of Beijing. It covers 12 square kilometers. During the 2008 Olympic Games, the park hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, and 15 major events.

Bird's Nest
The Beijing National Stadium or "Bird's Nest" is the centerpiece of this project. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics, and football finals of the Games. The stadium has room for 91,000 spectators, and the capacity was reduced to 80,000 after the Olympics.

Water Cube
The Beijing National Aquatics Center or "Water Cube" hosted the swimming, diving and synchronized swimming events. It has a capacity of 17,000 (reduced to 6,000 after the Olympics) and is located next to the National Stadium.
